Missing Girl In Cyril, Oklahoma – What Happened With Her?
Michael King A 4-year-old Cyril girl who was reported missing on Tuesday afternoon is the subject of an urgent search.
According to the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation, the search for Athena Brownfield began around 2:00 p.m.
Tuesday, a postal worker discovered her 4-year-old sister close to their house in Cyril, Oklahoma, in Caddo County, southwest of Oklahoma City, on the 200 block of West Nebraska.
Athena, who the OSBI initially reported to be three but has subsequently shown to be four, was last seen wearing a butterfly sweatshirt and is verbally illiterate.
When Athena was last seen is precisely pinpointed by law enforcement.
‘We are uncovering information that, with any luck, will help us determine where she is. We’re still looking for her very hard,’ the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation’s Brook Arbeitman stated.
Arbeitman responded, ‘That’s part of the current inquiry,’ when questioned about the location of Athena’s parents.
Authorities claimed that despite not needing medical attention, the 4-year-old was scared. She’s been taken into jail for protection. Police taped off the residence of the young child.
According to Arbeitman, the crime scene tape does not show that a crime took place at home; instead, it shows that a search warrant was executed there as is customary practice.
‘Finding her is currently our top priority in this active and ongoing inquiry. And determining who is accountable will follow. We must track down this young lady,’ Brook Arbeitman stated on Wednesday.
‘She is exposed to the elements alone. Is that thus in danger? Yeah. But has she experienced any injury to her body? That hasn’t been decided yet.’
Officials from the OSBI ask anyone who wants to assist in meeting at Family Life Church, which is close to the intersection of Third Street and Idaho Avenue in Cyril.
The OSBI reports that hundreds of people have already contributed to the search. The government advises Cyril’s inhabitants to search their homes.
Arbeitman advised people to refrain from spreading rumors and gossip on social media because it might hamper the search and investigation.
The Oklahoma Highway Patrol has used four-wheelers, infrared helicopters, and foot patrols to perform grid searches. On small ponds, they’ve also used boats.
According to Arbeitman, the ground grid search has been completed. However, authorities are using Oklahoma Department of Corrections dogs to look for Athena.
According to Oklahoma Highway Patrol Trooper Eric Foster, no Amber Alert was issued because Athena’s disappearance did not fall under the required criteria.
Tuesday night, a missing and endangered person alert was sent to residents within a 15-mile radius of Cyril. Later, law enforcement posted the sign on social media.
At 7:30 in the morning, a prayer vigil was conducted in front of the First Baptist Church on Main Street.
