An unsettling mystery has plagued the tranquil city in Sumter County, South Carolina, for nearly three years. Naomi Collins, a mother of 28 years old, was last seen alive on March 5, 2015, leaving her loved ones and friends uncertain. 

Their yearning for resolution has only intensified with time, which has driven them to seek assistance from the public sector. 

Naomi Collins is the subject of a frantic search conducted by Sergeant Wayne DuBose of the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office.

Amid his dogged pursuit of answers, he considers his family’s profound desire for resolution. 

DuBose says, “The family, at this time, really want closure.” He said, “We’re coming up on 44 months, so it doesn’t look like she’s out there…able to make contact with the family.” 

On Pinewood Road in Sumter County, where she was last seen, a witness saw Naomi enter a car with an unknown male. It was her last known sighting. 

According to DuBose, Naomi had a varied network of acquaintances, which explains why she frequently departed without giving prior notice. 

However, her drug dependence rendered her a high-risk individual, bringing concerns over her safety.

Naomi often disappeared for months, but she always kept in touch with her children via social media or phone. 

She disappeared after April 27, 2015. Alice Priest, who is the grandma of Naomi Priest’s son Wesley, gave an interview to WACH FOX News. 

Priest added that Naomi never stopped communicating with her son, even though she was never shown on video. 

The way that Naomi cheered for Wesley in his football games and called her vibrant and kind was one of her favourite things about Naomi. 

Wesley, who is 15 years old, longs for his mother and frequently inquires about her whereabouts, which breaks his grandmother’s heart.

Priest emphasized that Naomi was her daughter and the family was looking for answers to their questions. Sergeant DuBose expressed his frustration that so many “rumors” surrounded Naomi’s disappearance, making it impossible to solve the case.

However, they have generated more weekly phone calls and tips than any other missing persons case in the county.

DuBose cited Naomi’s son Wesley’s demand for answers as an urge for the general public to exercise caution and confirm their facts before publicizing.
