NBA Trade Rumors: Lakers, Clippers, Mavs, More Interested in Wizards' Landry Shamet | News, Scores, Highlights, Stats, and Rumors
Andrew Mckinney Washington Wizards guard Landry Shamet has several potential trade suitors ahead of the 2024 NBA draft on Wednesday.
According to HoopsHype's Michael Scotto, Shamet has drawn "exploratory" interest from the Los Angeles Lakers, Los Angeles Clippers, Dallas Mavericks, Utah Jazz, Toronto Raptors, and Orlando Magic.
Despite coming off a season in which he connected on just 33.8 percent of his three-pointers, the 27-year-old has established himself as a sharpshooter who can operate as an offensive threat without the ball in his hands. Prior to his 2023-24 campaign, Shamet never shot below 36 percent from three throughout a full season in his career.

He currently has a non-guaranteed salary of $22.75 million over the next two seasons, which consists of $11 million during the 2024-25 season and $11.75 million for 2025-26. Per Scotto, the Wizards are "leaning towards" guaranteeing his 2024-25 salary if he's not dealt by the end of the draft.
Shamet already has experience playing on the Clippers, appearing in 78 games for them from 2019 through 2020. It's also easy to envision his fit on the Lakers, as he could thrive as a floor-spacing option alongside LeBron James and Anthony Davis.
He could also stay in the Eastern Conference if a team such as the Magic chooses to pursue him. Orlando won 47 games and earned the No. 5 seed in the East despite averaging the fewest made three-pointers per game among all teams (via NBA.com).
Shamet should continue to draw interest from several opposing front offices as the draft approaches.
