Canadian actor Alan Thicke has died Tuesday at the age of 69, NBC News has confirmed with a family publicist.
According to entertainment media site TMZ, the actor as playing hockey with his son Carter, 19, when he had a heart attack. Emergency responders took him to the hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.
Thicke is best known for playing 80's sitcom dad Jason Seaver on television's long-running series Growing Pains. He also appeared in The Bold and the Beautiful and How I Met Your Mother.
Most recently, the actor was on the Netflix reboot Fuller House, and had just tweeted about the show on Twitter writing, "Season 2 Fuller House looking good. I even like the ones I’m not in! #fullerhouse."
Hollywood stars took to Twitter to mourn Thicke's passing, including Fuller House co-star Bob Saget.

The actor is survived by his wife Tanya Thicke and his three children including Carter, Brennan and singer Robin Thicke.
