Nicole Bliss's Women's Track Recruiting Profile
Mia Horton Personal Statement
As a cross country/track and field runner and student, I am very determined and self-driven. I always strive to improve. I believe that I am extremely coachable and will do and perform anything asked of me in practice and/or in class.
I first began high school as a diver who was looking for a fall sport to participate in and since I have always enjoyed running, I decided to join my high school's cross country program. After my first race, I fell in love with the sport. I have now been running cross country and track for 3 years and have been on varsity for all three of those. This past season, as a junior, I was the captain of the girls cross country team. I enjoy being captain because I am able to spread encouragement and lead by example as my captains had when I was a freshman. Other sports that I have competed in was diving where I was a varsity diver and champion in my league as a freshman. Starting this year, I began competing in pole vault for my high school's track and field program. I am currently jumping varsity and 8'9 and hope to improve greatly. I work hard and will always give 100% to all the activities and sports in which I participate and compete in.
In the classroom I am focused and determined to always do my best and put 100% into all homework assignments, projects and tests. I am an honors student but I do not take all the AP's that are offered since I am extremely active in my sports and extracurriculars but I do take a majority honors and AP courses.
I am extremely dedicated to everything I set my mind to. I promise to always give 100% effort and perform to the best of my ability.
