Noah Carr's Men's Soccer Recruiting Profile
Emily Wong Personal Statement
Hi, I'm Noah Carr, an aggressive, tough tackling center back. I pride myself in my strategic abilities and understanding of the game. Even though I have good ball handling skills I prefer to find the open player instead of being fancy and taking a risk of losing the ball.
I have been a multiple sport athlete (excelling at football, soccer, track, basketball, and baseball), however starting this year I have focused almost exclusively on soccer (still kicking for football). Soccer has always been my primary sport since I started playing at four. Living in west Texas has limited my opportunities, I joined a club team in 2011 which plays in the Dallas - Fort Worth area. This season (fall 2016) I am playing with an FC Dallas team. My first year was a learning experience, we lost most games. However, I helped turned that team into one of the top teams. We have always been a leader in the league for fewest goals allowed. This year my coach moved me to defensive midfield to help create opportunities. In 2013, I tried out and made North Texas ODP. I was selected to attend the regional camp my first year (summer 2014). However, I missed the last year due to a broken ankle, but attended this summer(2016). Through that injury I learned how to rehab and return quickly and without long term consequences to my full capability. In November of 2016 I joined a tournament team, the Mid-City Lions, coach by Mickey McNeill. We have traveled around the world playing in top showcases and tournaments. The best being in the Dubai Super-Cup and finishing 2nd in the U21 division. I have learned so much about the game of soccer through this experience.
