Notre Dame Football: New Gold Helmets Will Electrify Irish Fans | News, Scores, Highlights, Stats, and Rumors
William Harris Notre Dame is defying logic by transitioning to some new, shiny helmets that are sure to dazzle the crowd.
The gold helmets of the Fighting Irish have been around for as long as anyone can remember, but they are about to be modified once and for all.
As many diehard Irish fans know, the student managers are currently responsible for painting the helmets, but that tradition is about to end.
The Irish now have a helmet that better resembles the color of Golden Dome.
According to Inside the Irish, there is going to be a new standard for all of the Irish helmets.
- Helmet has created a new “Gold Standard” for helmets with reflective gold coloring.
- As you can see in the photo, color is much closer to the Golden Dome than any other helmet worn at Notre Dame.
- There’s still 23.9-karat gold flake in the paint of every helmet.
- There’s a better consistency from helmet to helmet on the roster.
- The tradition of student managers painting the helmets will end, as the coloring process is too complex.
This is without a doubt the best idea the Irish have come up with in years. What college football player doesn't want to run around in helmets that have actual 23.9-karat gold flakes in them?
These helmets are immaculate. The difference between the two helmets is really remarkable. This is without a doubt a truer gold color, and it is sure to shine when the sun hits them.
Every fan in the stadium is going to go crazy when they see these helmets come out onto the field, and they should.
This is a terrific decision—one that should have been made years ago.
Good work, Irish.
