The Players Championship 2024 continued Friday at TPC Sawgrass' Stadium Course in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida.

Justin Thomas, Nick Dunlap and Jordan Spieth were among the golfers who missed the cut after the second round. A low-scoring second round led to a cut line set at -1, eliminating more than 60 competitors on Friday.

There were, however, two golfers who didn't get to finish the second round. The second round of the tournament was suspended due to darkness at 7:30 p.m. ET on Friday, leaving Ben Silverman and Ryo Hisatsune to finish their rounds on Saturday morning. Silverman had a score of +1 and Hisatsune was at par when the round was suspended, both sitting below the cut line.

Hisatsune was able to make the cut by finishing with a round of 69 to stay at par. Silverman came up short in his effort to play the weekend, staying at +1 when he finished his second round.

After two rounds, Wyndham Clark leads the Players Championship with a score of -14. The closest golfers to him are Xander Schauffele and Nick Taylor, each at -10 through the second round.

Over the last two years, the cutline at the Players Championship stayed at 2 over, but with the first two rounds being low scoring, this year's event saw the cutline move under par for the first time since 2019.

Thomas, who was one of the names to watch heading into the Players Championship, was holding out hope through Friday, but needed a strong performance to avoid the cutline. Ultimately, he was unable to advance after picking up four bogeys on Friday.

Dunlap, who turned pro this season and is just 20 years old, had a shaky performance after picking up his first PGA Tour win in January. He had three bogeys through the first 18 holes, which put him well below the cutline.

Spieth showed signs of life late, getting even at par, but trouble on the last few holes meant he didn't have enough to meet the -1 threshold and was eliminated from the tournament.
