Rocket City Trash Pandas throw combined no-hitter but lose 7-5 to Chattanooga Lookouts
Emily Wong The Rocket City Trash Pandas — the Double-A affiliate of the Los Angeles Angels — threw a combined no-hitter Saturday but lost 7-5 to the Cincinnati Reds Double-A affiliate Chattanooga Lookouts. Here’s what you need to know:
- The Trash Pandas were leading 3-0 going into the seventh inning.
- In the top of the seventh, the Lookouts scored seven runs despite not registering a hit. The seven runs were scored on six walks and three hit-by-pitches.
- The Trash Pandas scored two runs in the bottom half, but it wasn’t enough to beat the Lookouts.

Backstory
Trash Pandas pitcher Coleman Crow went six hitless innings, recording two walks and six strikeouts. Ben Joyce pitched 2/3 innings, giving up five runs (one earned run) and four walks, registering the loss. Eric Torres, the final Rocket City pitcher, recorded just one out, but not before he walked a batter and gave up two earned runs.

The Trash Pandas recorded the first no-hitter of the 2023 minor league season. The Lookouts improve to 2-0 while the Trash Pandas fall to 0-2.
