Sergeant Gregory Furtado Died: Massachusetts State Police Mourns the Unexpected Loss of Their Brave Officer

Furtado, 41, was a dedicated and respected member of the Massachusetts State Police, most recently serving in the Cape & Islands State Police Detective Unit. His unexpected passing on December 1, 2023, has left a profound impact on his colleagues and the community he served.
The State Police Association of Massachusetts expressed deep regret over the sudden loss of one of their members in a recent statement. The association also extended their thoughts to Sergeant Furtado’s wife, children, and coworkers as they navigate this tragic loss.
Gregory regarded as a selfless public servant, a compassionate colleague, and a dedicated individual, Furtado made an everlasting impression on those he worked with. His dedication to his duty and commitment to the safety of his community were evident in his work and interactions.
