The following year, he wrote the plot for the movie “The cookout” as a writer and also produced the film. Further, he went on to produce several films like “beauty shop”, “life support”, “who’s your candy?” and “the perfect holiday” to name a few.

In 2009, he went on to produce a television movie “Broke and Famous” and the following year, he also worked in the music department of “Just Wright” while also producing the film. His career went ahead and he further produced movies like “The cookout 2” (2011), “Joyful noise” (2012), “Steel Magnolias” (2012), “Let the church say amen” (2013), House of Bodies” (2013), “Percentage” (2014), “November rule” (2015), “Queen Latifah: Bessie” (2015),  “The perfect match” (2016), “Flint” (2017) to name a few.  In 2013, the company signed an official deal with the OTT platform Netflix to provide a platform for their films worldwide.

He also produced several tv series since 2012 including “The Next” (20120, “single ladies” (2012), “let’s stay together” (2014), “from the bottom up” (2016), “VH1 hip hop honors” (2016), “The pop game” (2017), “the best place to be” (2017), “The Rap game” (2016), and “Scream” in 2019. Shakim also has several credits for documentary films under his name including “The Art of Organized Noize in 2016 and a most recent production in 2019 “The Black Godfather”. Recently in 2021, he produced a television movie “Salt and Pepa” and a 10 episode long Tv series “The Equalizer” as the executive producer. Moreover, his other production under the name “End of the road” is currently in the process stage and being filmed.
