MARIETTA, GA (WXIA) -- The Marietta City Council has denied Six Flags White Water's request to sell alcohol.
White Water representatives came before the Marietta City Council on Monday to request a change in the city ordinance to be able to sell and consume alcohol in the park.
The city code only allows for the sale of alcohol in restaurants and bars within the city limits.
With a vote of 4-2 by the city council, the change to the ordinance was not approved.
Council members opposed the request due to safety concerns of the children and families at the park while mixing alcohol consumption and water activities.
