Spencer from Squid Game: The Challenge is a self-proclaimed ‘mama’s boy’
In episode 2, we hear Player 299 open up about being a ‘mama’s boy.’ Confessing to the cam he says: “I used to wet the bed a lot, I used to cry a lot when I was taken away from my mom.”
He then explains how he’s “extremely gullible” which he sees as a big problem. “If somebody says something to me, I’m gonna like believe it immediately.”
Spencer claims he’s empathetic, which is sometimes a downfall. His actions in Squid Game episode 2, The Man With The Umbrella, prove this.
Spencer asks Squid Game players to “spit on everyone else’s cookie”
Although player 299 agreed to go for The Umbrella, many of his teammates weren’t happy that he “shook hands with the villain.” Player 432 agreed they’d help the Umbrellas finish their cookie in Dalgona, to help prevent them being shot with the dreaded black ink.
However, they then learn afterward that their entire line will play with the shape chosen, and each line will play independently.
Players were not permitted to help any other players, as Hawkins admits he was “an idiot” for not expecting this.
It was the end of the road for Player 299
As players on Spencer’s team continued to fall due to his ‘difficult choice’ the pressure got too much for him, seeing what they were losing due to his decision. “I think some of them are going to hate me,” he admitted.
“I think some of them are going to remember me for the rest of their lives for ruining their chances of becoming a millionaire.”
Unfortunately, Hawkins himself fell at the final hurdle, just when he thought he was about to cut the umbrella shape completely from his cookie, it snapped.
