Tatum O’Neal was born in the Westwood area of Los Angeles, California on the 5th of November, 1963. She has a brother, Griffin O’Neal who is also an actor, and a half-brother, Patrick O’Neal who is an actor and sports broadcaster. In 1967, following her parents, Ryan O’Neal and Joanna More’s divorce, her father married Leigh Taylor-Young and they had her half-brother, Patrick O’Neal.

Then in 1973, the couple divorced. After then, Tatum O’Neal’s father got into a relationship with Farrah Fawcett with whom he had another son, Tatum O’Neal’s half-brother, Redmond O’Neal. At the age of 63, her mother died of lung cancer.

Autobiographies

In her 2004 autobiography, A Paper Life, Tatum O’Neal revealed that she was molested by her father’s drug dealer when she was just 12 years old. She also claimed to have suffered physical and emotional abuse from her father, attributing the cause to her father’s drug use. However, her father denied any of her claims ever happened.
