Taylor Morgan's Women's Soccer Recruiting Profile
Michael King Personal Statement
After countless months of intense training everyday, off-season or not, having to tell my friends I would have to meet up with them later because I had to train, the day that I was told that I had made the Tualatin High School girls varsity soccer team was one of the most amazing and accomplishing moments of not only my high school career, but my life too. This moment has stuck with me since that very day, and genuinely changed my character; not only personality wise, and the attitude and perspective I take on a variety of things, but it also has made an impact on my academic performance, and who I strive to be as a student-athlete. Becoming a member of this team made me refocus my efforts on being the best forward that I could be, and to constantly put in the effort and work all the way up to participating in college level soccer, but it has mentally changed my viewpoint on the true definition of work ethic and the extreme importance of the saying "a little goes a long ways."
I am looking for a university that will not only recognize my abilities on the field, but off the field as well. Academics are a crucial component towards what I want to achieve, as well as become in the future, but to who I want to be as a person and the type of image I want to obtain. I am a person that can bring joy and laughter to any situation, but I am also one who sets the tone and knows when it's time to be serious and ready to go. I thrive in social situations and large groups of people, and like to surround myself with people that have the same traits and aspirations as me, but I also enjoy surrounding myself with people that are the opposite of me because it helps me slow things down and experience new ideas and perspectives, and possible thoughts that I may have not had before. I know that with my unique character and eagerness to compete, I have what it takes to be an outstanding leader on your team, on and off of the field!
