Sophia Edwards Dr Terry Dubrow was using weight loss drug, Ozempic, but has decided to ditch the trend. He has since spoken out about his health, revealing he “feels great” months after he experienced stroke symptoms before using the drug.
Heather Dubrow’s husband, Terry, is best known for starring on Botched. The cosmetic surgeon is speaking out on a strong warning for those buying Ozempic on the Internet, and quit the trend himself.
Terry Dubrow warns Ozempic users
Terry Dubrow is warning Ozempic users not to buy the weight loss drug online. He told E! News, “It’s super effective. It’s here to stay. Just don’t get it from the internet. Get it from your physician.”
He clarified the injectable drug he tested out “wasn’t Ozempic, it was Mounjaro, which is the higher end version of it,” adding you should get the drug “under a doctor’s supervision.”
“It’s curing a lot of diseases, not the least of which is obesity,” Terry added. Heather was supportive of her husband’s decision, and said: “It didn’t surprise me when he wanted to try it and see for his patients.”
Dr Dubrow gives health update
Terry is now “feeling great” and has experienced weight loss after using Ozempic. His wife Heather Dubrow jokingly chimed in during the E! interview: “I thought you were going to say fat!”
Last month, Terry revealed he stopped using the FDA-approved drug, thinking: “‘I kind of want to get my appetite back,'” while also noting he experienced “low-grade nausea” from it.
He is now “eating more” while his wife Heather said: “I have a bunch of girlfriends, who are all at the age going through menopause, that have used it for a quick start or reset.”
Botched doctor recovered from scare
Terry Dubrow’s health scare in August 2023 was caused by a hole in his heart. Doctors discovered he had a mini-stroke after being subjected to a series of tests, and realized he’d had a “transient ischemic attack”.
Doctors also discovered he had a patent foramen ovale (PFO), “which is a hole in the heart that didn’t close the way it should after birth.” A blood clot had passed through the PFO before traveling to his brain.
Thankfully, doctors fixed Terry’s PFO that same day, and he’s now fine. Within days, he’d already been cleared to perform surgery and do high-intensity workouts, as well as show gratitude for his wife.
