Everyone’s favourite Channel 4 show, Gogglebox, is coming back to screens tonight after months off-air. Although one set of Gogglebox stars that are noticeably missing from the screen is Stephen Webb alongside husband and co-star Daniel Lustig.

Many of our favourite stars of the show have been updating their social media with pictures of them returning to their sofas ready to share their thoughts on the latest TV shows, for our entertainment.

Stephen has recently given an unexpected update and viewers are sad to hear that he can’t partake in filming Gogglebox, just days before the new series airs.

Where are Stephen and Daniel on Gogglebox S19?

Stephen can’t film this week because he has tested positive for Covid.

Stephen shared a video to his Instagram of him sitting with one of his pooches for moral support, as his hubby Daniel kept his distance in the background of the video.

“This is for the Gogglebox crew, good luck filming this week, can’t wait to see you Friday,” the 50-year-old remarked. He then continued that he desperately needs a laugh when his isolation is over.

He posted the video to his 191 thousand followers with the caption: “Gogglebox Back this Friday C4 9 pm, gutted we won’t be back for episode 1 [crying emoji] looking forward to seeing everyone #gogglebox #goggleboxfriday #goggleboxfamily.”

As soon as the video was posted, the comments section started to fill with well wishes and support. Fellow Gogglebox co-stars were quick to share their thoughts.

Ellie Warner was one of the first to comment saying, “Hope to see you back very soon! Get well soon.”

Along with Dave and Shirley Griffiths who jested; “It’s a nightmare isn’t stephen, but it’s a break for Daniel.”

Gogglebox returns tonight

Who knew that a show about people watching telly, would be so entertaining? It has been an antagonising wait for the new season but the big day has finally arrived.

The 19th season of Gogglebox begins tonight, 18 February at 9 pm on Channel 4. The episodes will air every week at the same time on Friday night and will be available to stream live or on catch up via All 4.

Fans can’t wait to see the familiar faces back on screens but what’s even more exciting is that we could meet some new families too. Channel 4 made a casting call towards the end of last year that they were looking for at least one Scottish household ahead of the new series, so finger’s crossed we have some new funny folk!
