Meet Eli Ward on The Voice
Singer-songwriter from southern Illinois, Eli Ward released his first single Catalyst early in 2023. Followed quickly by another single, Eli uses music as a portal to channel emotions and memories into music.
He signed up for The Voice season 24 and became a fan favorite, but his journey ended at the battles. The 21-year-old musician turned the chairs of coaches Reba McEntire and Gwen Stefani at his audition.
Eli Ward chose to sing Lewis Capaldi’s Bruises during the Blind Auditions. Now a senior in college, Eli has made the tough decision to not continue with cross-country running so he can focus on music.

Viewers are divided over Gwen Stefani‘s decision to keep Jason in her team and send home Eli. When Niall Horan said he didn’t feel Eli would fit right in his team, some disagreed.
One fan said: “You won the battle in my eyes/ears Eli!” Another penned in the comments of Eli and Jason’s battle: “I think the coaches made some bad decisions tonight.”
“I would have gone with Eli! Waterloo proud!” wrote a fellow viewer. Another commenter said: “Bro what is going on tonight with these picks from the coaches…”
Niall said Eli wouldn’t be a good fit for #TeamNiall but I disagree #TheVoice #VoiceBattles
