The latest 1000-lb Sisters season sees Tammy Slaton wondering whether she could be pregnant and Amy Slaton Halterman juggling life as a single mother. The TLC stars are hanging out more with their siblings since Tammy returned home. Misty Wentworth, Amanda Halterman, and Chris Combs have quickly become fan favorites on the show.
Amy Halterman navigates single mom life
1000-lb Sisters season 5 episode 6 sees Amy end up in a meltdown. As she deals with life as a single parent it appears things get too much for Amy as fans see her break down in tears.
The reality TV star and her family have all gone through some difficult times over the show’s five seasons. Tammy tragically lost her husband Caleb Willingham when he passed away in June 2023.
Amy’s marriage broke down and she’s now raising her two sons. Her brother tells her during episode 6: “If something happens to you, you’re not going to be here to take care of them babies.”
During the family’s Kentucky Derby day, Chris also says Amy is “lazy” for not taking part in one of the day’s games.
But, the TLC stars have had many triumphs, especially with their weight loss results. Fan-favorite Chris showed off his transformation, and Tammy and Amy have lost hundreds of pounds between them.

1000-lb Sisters ‘slay’ Kentucky Derby
Despite having to deal with life’s difficulties, Amy is still “slaying,” according to her fans.
On January 16, she took to TikTok to share some snaps from the family’s Derby Day. The photos see Amy and Tammy smiling as they wear hats at their version of the Kentucky Derby.
One fan commented: “Slay, ya’ll look so good I love ya’ll.”
Another wrote: “Get it, girl,” while more urged Amy to “stay strong, positive” and “pray.”

Amy and Tammy’s ‘role reversal’
As 1000-lb Sisters season 5 plays out, it’s clear to see Amy is struggling amid her divorce and single motherhood.
Many of her fans take to X (Twitter) to share words of support, as they think it’s clear she’s “unhappy.”
One viewer tweeted: “We are all proud of your courage to move on.”
More think it seems Amy and Tammy have swapped roles on the show, writing: “So did Amy and Tammy just switch personalities?”
Another said: “This is exactly what I’ve been saying all season! Tammy and Amy reversed roles and it’s sad to see. We know Tammy was nasty to everyone because she was unhappy and miserable…now Amy is.”
Tammy also observed the same of herself and her sister, saying on the show she and her sister had “reversed roles,” she added: “What the hell happened?”
