1. BMKG Forecast Rainy Election Day in Most Parts of Indonesia
TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) forecasted high-intensity rainfall in most Indonesian regions from February 13 to February 15, which coincides with the general election day on Wednesday, February 14, 2024.
“This potential is based on the significant atmospheric dynamic conditions observed,” said Guswanto, the agency’s deputy for meteorology, as quoted from Antara on Wednesday, February 7, 2024.
2. 4 European Countries Continue Funding to UNRWA
TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - At least 16 countries have suspended their funding to the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine refugees, or UNRWA, after Israel accused 12 of the agency's 13,000 Gaza workers of taking part in the Oct. 7, 2023, Hamas attack in southern Israel. The sixteen countries include top donors such as the United States and Germany.
The claim comes as Israel faces a genocide case at the International Court of Justice and after years of calls for the agency to be disbanded. However, these four European countries are determined to continue funding for UNRWA.
3. KRL Train Runs Slowly as Anies-Cak Imin Campaign Participants Passing Areas Near Railway
TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Campaign participants from Jakarta and the vicinities flocked the Jakarta International Stadium or JIS to attend the grand campaign of candidate pair number 1 Anies Baswedan-Muhaimin Iskandar on Saturday, Feb. 10.
