The River Valley community is in mourning after the passing of Blairsville Elementary School’s physical education instructor, Mr. Todd McGee. 

According to a statement, he was known for his positivity and ability to see the good in people and situations. Students will remember him as a role model for promoting physical fitness and education and for his warm and welcoming demeanor.

The loss of Mr. McGee has also had an impact on the school staff, who viewed him as a colleague, friend, and spiritual guide. 

The community has rallied to provide grief counseling for those in need, with counselors from various locations available to speak with students.

Despite the difficult circumstances, the teachers and staff at BES have risen to the occasion, meeting the needs of their students while dealing with their own emotions.

Mr. McGee’s impact on the community will be deeply missed, as he was a valuable role model for students throughout the school district.
