4. Asafa Powell

Asafa Powell, another well-known Jamaican sprinter, joins the list of the fastest men in the world. He specializes in the 100 meters race and has broken the 100 meters world record twice, with times of 9.77 and 9.74 seconds. He currently holds the world record for the 100-yard dash with a time of 9.09 and has consistently broken y broken the 10-second barrier more times than anyone else—97 times. 5. Justin Gatlin

American sprinter, Justin Gatlin takes fifth place among the fastest men in the world, with a 100M record time of 9.74 seconds.  He is the most decorated 100m sprinter in World Championship history, with a record of five individual 100m medals. He is also the most decorated 100m sprinter of all time, with a tally of eight global championship 100m medals (three Olympic and five World Championship). Altogether, he is a 5-time Olympic medalist and a 12-time World Championship medalist.

6. Christian Coleman

Taking sixth place on the list of the Fastest men in the world is the American professional track and field sprinter Christian Coleman. He holds personal records of 9.76 seconds for the 100 m and 19.85 for the 200 m and is also the world indoor record holder for the 60 meters with 6.34 seconds.  He is also the former world champion in the 100 meters and was a double gold medallist at the World Championships in Athletics in 2019. Coleman was the IAAF Diamond League champion in 2018 and the world’s number one ranked 100M runner in 2017 and 2018.

7. Trayvon Bromell

Trayvon Bromell is an American professional track and field athlete and one of the fastest men in the world. He is the 2016 world indoor 60 m champion and the first junior to break the 10-second barrier in the 100 meters with a time of 9.97 seconds, the former junior world record. Bromell’s personal best time in the 100m of 9.76 seconds makes him the 6th fastest man of all time, tying him with Christian Coleman and Fred Kerley.

With a personal best time of 9.76 in the 100 M race and 43.64 seconds in 400 M, American sprinter, Fred Kerley joins the league of the fastest men in the world. Kerley who is known primarily for competing in the 400 meters distance has earned several medals in several international competitions across the globe, including a silver medal in the 100 m at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. His personal best time of 43.64 seconds makes him the eighth fastest man in history over 400 m

9. Ferdinand Omanyala

Ferdinand Omanyala is a Kenyan Sprinter and also one of the fastest men in the world.  He is currently the African record holder and the 8th fastest man of all time in the 100 meters after completing a race in 9.77 seconds. He is the first Kenyan and only African to ever break the 10-second barrier. Omanyala won Kenya’s first gold medal at the 2022 Commonwealth games in Birmingham, becoming the first Kenyan to win a gold medal in the 100-meter race.

10. Nesta Carter

Former Jamaican sprinter Nesta Carter concludes the list of the fastest men in the world. He became the fifth sprinter to run the 100 meters in less than 9.8 seconds In 2010. His 100m personal best of 9.78 currently ranks him as the ninth fastest man of all time. Carter was also successful as part of the Jamaican 4 x 100 meters relay team, taking gold and setting successive world records at the 2011 World Championships and 2012 London Olympics.
