Patriots fan dies after stadium brawl: video of assault investigated
Dale Mooney, a New England Patriots fan, died after a violent altercation during his team's 17-24 NFL game loss to the Miami Dolphins.
The 53-year-old fan was assaulted by a Dolphins fan during a fight and the Norfolk District Attorney's Office is investigating video of the assault that cost him his life.
During the brawl Dale Mooney, who was a 30-year season ticket holder with the Patriots, suffered a severe blow to his head on the ground.
"What I saw was actually a punch and the victim took a pretty hard punch to the side of the head and went down. He's a bigger guy but he just collapsed," one of the witnesses told NBC Boston.
Mooney, who was rushed to hospital, was confirmed dead.
