Video: Adonai Mitchell Defended by Colts GM Chris Ballard in Emotional NSFW Statement | News, Scores, Highlights, Stats, and Rumors
Mia Horton Former Texas wideout Adonai Mitchell fell to the Indianapolis Colts in the second round on Friday after reports emerged that he didn't interview well and wasn't always engaged when he wasn't being involved in the offense, making him a tough projection.
But Colts general manager Chris Ballard railed against those reports in a NSFW rant after selecting Mitchell:
Chris Shepherd @NFLschemeChris Ballard is going to bat for Ad Mitchell and he's pissed about all of the reports of Mitchell's off the field concerns.<br><br>The <a href="">#Colts</a> GM is on one and I'm here for it. <a href="">
"I read some of the bulls--t that was said," Ballard said. "Excuse my language. Our typical league—unnamed sources, bad interviews. That's such bulls--t. I mean, it f--king is. It's bulls--t. Put your name on it. I'm tired of it. We tear these young men down. These are 21-, 22-year-old young men. And if people out there tell me they're perfect in their lives? It's crap. This is a good kid. And for those reports to come out, it's bulls--t."
Mitchell wasn't pleased with his drop down the boardEithe:
Mike Chappell @mchappell51New Colt Adonai Mitchell. Excited to be a Colt but clearly irritated he lasted to 52.<br>'I'm pissed.'<br>His skillset?<br>'The best.' <a href="">
Either way, there's no doubt he's talented. The B/R NFL Scouting Department called him a "good long-term play for a starting outside WR. Between his length, sufficient speed and relatively flexible movement ability, Mitchell has all the tools to blossom into a feature piece of an NFL offense with a bit more consistency."
If he can get the most of his tools, the Colts—and Ballard—will end up thanking their lucky stars that Mitchell fell to them in the second round.
