The television programme that first aired back in 2015 on Channel 4 in the UK, was loved by the audiences over its seven seasons. For American and Canadian viewers, the show was aired on HGTV.

HGTV’s Escape to the Chateau documents Dick and Angel’s journey from living in a two-bedroom flat in Essex, UK, to renovating an epic gothic castle that went on to become their new home.

However, it’s been some months since the couple has made a television appearance. Hence, fans are now wondering what happened to Escape to the Chateau!

When will Escape to the Chateau return for season 8?

However, the show’s official Instagram page has revealed that the Strawbridge family is currently working on a brand new series.

On May 1, a pic was posted of the family overlooking a quaint lake. The caption read, “Well we’re excited to tell you that Dick, Angel, Arthur & Dorothy are currently filming a brand new series of ‘Make Do & Mend’… keep your eyes peeled for announcements of when and where you can watch!”

Make Do & Mend is a spin-off of sorts of Escape to the Chateau. Series/Season 1 of the show aired in 2020. It looks like the couple is filming season 2 now.

What is Make Do & Mend all about?

Escape to the Chateau: Make Do & Mend aired in July 2020. The show chronicles Dick and Angel’s life stuck at home like millions of families.

It sees Dick and Angel tackle their design dilemmas with the help of their kids Dorothy and Arthur. Series 1 of the show had only four episodes.
