Have you ever wondered what your odds of survival would be like if you were in a horror movie?

I have, and I feel like my chances would NOT be that good if I were trying to escape a serial killer.

I am a huge horror movie fan, which I wish I could say would be helpful in my escape, but I'm not that hopeful.

In fact, I feel like watching all of those classic scary films probably would make my situation even worse. Instead of being smart and remembering what worked (and what didn't), I'd probably freak out and try to do everything I've ever seen all at once.

Which, of course, doesn't help when you're trying to stay alive while some psycho-killer is hot on your trail.

If you know anything about Freddy Krueger, Michael Myers, and Jason Vorhees, then you know one little slip-up could mean the end for you. These guys do not play around.

And if you've ever read the rules for surviving a horror movie, then you know there are things you must do and things you must NEVER do if you want to make it out alive.

Yep, it's true!

But there are also so many different terrifying films out there, with all different types of endings and twists. That means that your chance of survival might go up OR down depending on the particular twists of the specific scenario you're in.

You might feel like it's the end... until you and your BFF suddenly go full-force and kick some serial killer ass!

Or you might think you’ve finally made it out of the woods (literally)... until your best friend turns on you and kills you!

It all depends on the movie. And it also depends on YOU.

You know your horoscope can tell you a lot about your personality traits and things like that, but what about your horror-scope?

Astrology might just hold the answers to you how well you'd fare. Pretty cool, huh?!

So, while YOU might think you have a fighting chance of survival, the stars might come right back and say, "Nope! Not even close." In which case, you better start saying goodbye to your friends now. Sorry.

ARIES (Mar 21 - Apr 19)

Aries is the one in all the horror movies who says she isn’t afraid to look around the house or the campsite and to open the closet and basement doors when she hears a strange noise. This bravery is great for those times when the group has to volunteer someone to go find the person who’s been missing for a while, but it can also lead to MAJOR trouble...

Whether Aries is using her hubris to impress someone else, or she really is THAT brave to go up against a serial killer, ultimately, this can get her into hot water.Movie killers aren’t afraid of anything, so when little ol’ Aries tests him at his own game, it’s possible she’ll die in the process. Or she might survive and kill the killer. Only time will tell.

TAURUS (Apr 20 - May 20)

Just because a serial killer is chasing her, that doesn’t mean Taurus is going to be any less… well, Taurus-like. Yes, she values her life, but if she has to choose between running from potential danger or getting busy with someone in a tent, she’s gonna choose the latter. Her tent buddy might be worried about all those twigs snapping outside, but Taurus isn’t.

This might not necessarily sound like laziness on Taurus’ part at first, but it most definitely is. She’ll only start running when it’s too late, but by then, it’s just too late. This laziness can be applied to a number of scenarios, but that isn’t important. What is important is that Taurus is NOT going to survive — and will probably take whoever is with her down, too. GEMINI (May 21 - June 20)

Gemini hates being alone IRL, so when it comes to being in a horror movie, nothing changes. She sticks so fiercely to the group that if she were in a Scooby Doo cartoon, she would totally freak out whenever Fred says, “Let’s split up gang!” You will NEVER catch Gemini exploring a place where a serial killer is likely lurking on her own.

She is also most likely to keep her cell phone on her at all times, even when there’s no service and all the power lines are cut. Her phone stays miraculously charged at all times, and won’t die just because she uses the flashlight feature once. Gemini would survive a horror movie by sheer luck — oh, and by calling the police when she finally finds service at the end of the movie.

CANCER (June 21 - July 22)

I think it’s safe to say there are a LOT of things going on during any horror flick. You have to run, but you also have to hide from a serial killer. You have to constantly stay on the look out for any chance to narrowly make an escape. You might make a wrong turn and lose your friends. Anything can happen and sometimes it does all at once. For Cancer, this is NOT a cool place to be.

Cancer gets so easily overwhelmed with everything going on around her that she wouldn’t be able to handle it for too long. It’s not that she stops running, but more that her judgment starts getting clouded, making it harder for her to focus on the most important thing: escaping. Unfortunately, this means Cancer won’t survive, but hopefully, her friends won’t make the same mistake she does.

LEO (July 23 - Aug 22)

Leo desperately wants to survive (don’t we all?) and will do everything in her power to escape a crazy killer on the loose. This means everything from stocking up on as many weapons as she can find to creating a strategy to gang up on the serial killer and kill him before he kills everyone else. She works well under pressure in everyday situations, and she's no different even in this kind of situation.

That said, you can still be smart and do all the right things and still not come out on top. Yes, Leo will fight until she can’t anymore, but ultimately, the serial killer will get her. That said, Leo’s efforts won’t be in vain. In fact, all of her preparedness and strategy will help her remaining friends escape, even if she doesn’t make it.

VIRGO (Aug 23 - Sep 22)

Virgo also uses her head when it comes to outsmarting a serial killer and will do whatever it takes to make sure her friends make it out alive. She tries to apply logic and her own personal knowledge of serial killers to the situation at hand. This means being as prepared as possible (if you CAN be prepared to be murdered by a serial killer) and sticking to the plan.

The motivation behind Virgo’s efforts isn’t so much that she herself wants to escape, but more that she wants to help her friends escape. She’s the one in a horror movie making sure no one gets left behind, even if they trip and can’t seem to get up forever. This “no friend left behind” mentality is honorable, and what’s even more honorable is Virgo’s decision to ultimately sacrifice herself in order to save her friends.

LIBRA (Sept 23 - Oct 22)

Libra can end up becoming overly-stressed and inconsolable when trying to escape a serial killer (wouldn’t we all be like this?), but she can take these emotions to the next level. At first, she will try to stay calm and keep everyone else around her calm, but this only lasts for a while. Once she realizes getting away from a serial killer isn’t as easy as she thinks, all hell breaks loose.

You know the horror movie scene where one of the people gets lost or strays from the group and finds herself alone? And then all of a sudden the serial killer starts lurking around because he knows she’s hiding somewhere after hearing her move? Yeah, that’s Libra. But instead of trying to hold out for as long as possible, she freaks out and gives away her hiding place… and loses her life.

SCORPIO (Oct 23 - Nov 21)

Scorpio’s life motto is “never trust a stranger” so it makes sense that she would only stick with the people she knows in a horror movie. Not only that, but stick with her friends — in other words, people she trusts. But just because you know someone, doesn’t mean they’re trustworthy, right? Scorpio isn't about to lose her life just because the first time she decided to trust someone new was when a serial killer was on the loose.

Staying close to friends and not splitting up is how Scorpio survives. She doesn’t try to leave her friends behind, but she does know the importance of saving yourself. So while she makes sure to keep a head count of her group at all times, she also likes to remind everyone that there will be times where you have to fend for yourself, and not feel guilty when that time comes.

SAGITTARIUS (Nov 22 - Dec 19)

Sagittarius believes that who you trust determines the outcome of things, and Sagittarius doesn’t trust anyone more than herself. That means when she’s in her own horror movie and trying to escape a serial killer, the only person she wants around her is herself. She’ll ditch her friends (you never know who the killer will end up being) and trust her instincts.

To some, this willingness to fend off a serial killer all alone seems like a stupid idea, and to others, it makes Sagittarius seem very suspicious. But all Sagittarius is thinking about is taking care of herself without worrying about everyone else around her. It's a risky move, but it pays off; Sagittarius is definitely a survivor.

CAPRICORN (Dec 20 - Jan 19)

Capricorn uses smarts to survive, but unlike her sister signs, she NEVER lets emotions get in the way. She knows there is a serial killers out there and she knows that this serial killer is going to kill her (obviously). That means she needs to put her survival skills to the test and only think about getting the heck out of that situation ASAP.

When this survivalist mode kicks in, it makes her almost as indestructible as the serial killer she’s trying to escape. This makes her a great leader, but don’t expect her to make any accommodations for you. If she says you need to do exactly what she says, then you better listen to her. It’s Capricorn’s way or the highway, and if you choose the highway option, she isn’t responsible for what happens.

AQUARIUS (Jan 20 - Feb 18)

Horror movies are CRAZY, we can all agree on that. And what’s more, the things people do to survive can be even crazier. Think of it this way: if you were fighting for your life, wouldn’t you do anything to survive, too? That is Aquarius’ mentality, at least, and she does whatever she needs to do to escape. That said, she can sometimes go a little too far.

Yes, Aquarius will survive a horror movie, but not before she does something that will probably haunt her for the rest of her life. I’m talkin’ trying to set the serial killer on fire, maybe using a meat cleaver to bash his brains in, pretty much anything that would make you queasy to watch. Aquarius would most definitely be in one of the bloodier movies. But even covered in blood, she’s escaping.

PISCES (Feb 19 - Mar 20)

Pisces was NOT made for horror movies. She should most definitely star in a romantic comedy instead, but we don’t always get what we want, do we? Pisces is the one who's always seconds away from peeing her pants, trying to stifle her crying, and screaming every time she hears a noise in the woods. This hypersensitivity to her surroundings might actually be an advantage, but to her friends, it’s just annoying.

Through it all, Pisces is totally terrified and barely holding on, but her absolute fear of being murdered is what keeps her holding on. She’s definitely a “fight or flight” kind of person, and when it’s time to make a decision to save herself, she’ll do what she has to. Her fear can be almost comical but put her face to face with a serial killer and she’ll surprise you with how well she can defend herself.
