The Tekashi 6ix9ine case continues to grow, and now, one of the defendants in the case is making the headlines for a rather interesting reason. Could someone really get a reduced sentence for being abused? We will find out soon enough. Who is Aaron Bat Young?

What has now been dubbed the Tekashi 6ix9ine case has morphed into a monolith of epic proportions. As we'd previously reported on this site, the man born Daniel Hernandez got his start making rap music for Generation Y (which sounds like nails on a chalkboard to a so-called "old head," or a fan of hip hop music from the "old school"). However, thanks to his association with various gangs — most notably, the Bloods, and more specifically, the Nine Trey Gangsta Bloods — Tekashi 6ix9ine found himself in a world of trouble, to say the least, and he's set to be sentenced for his role in this mess next month. 

But let's look at what we know about Aaron Bat Young and his role in this drama.

1. He first got arrested in 2018. 

According to a report by All Hip Hop, Aaron Bat Young was one of many people in Tekashi 6ix9ine's crew who was arrested back in 2018 for a series of charges, including racketeering. The outlet reports that Young was amongst the people associated with Tekashi 6ix9ine that were involved in a series of crimes, including "shooting inside of the Barclay's Center, Chief Keef being shot at, Tekashi being kidnapped, a shooting on the West coast involving Kanye West and Nicki Minaj, Crippie being shot right after Tekashi's court date, and now the racketeering charges." 

2. Aaron Bat Young pleaded guilty to conspiracy to commit racketeering. 

According to Complex, Aaron Bat Young pleaded guilty to conspiracy to commit racketeering back in April of this year. The outlet reports that this was the only charge he pleaded to, even though he admitted to both distributing drugs and to attempting to murder a former Nine Trey Gangsta Bloods associate. 

3. The Tekashi 6ix9ine drama is seen as indicative of how hip hop profits from gang culture. 

"Buried below the surface of a flashy public persona, experts warn of a dark underbelly fueled by violence, crime and drugs. Meanwhile, one longtime gang investigator with the Los Angeles Police Department, who requested anonymity, said up-and=coming artists need to understand that “talent is talent," reported Fox News, when speaking on Tekashi 6ix9ine and his affiliates.

4. Aaron Bat Young wants a lower prison sentence due to past abuse and low IQ. 

According to XXL Magazine, Aaron Bat Young's attorney, Aaron Mysliwiec, wrote a letter to the court pleading for mercy on behalf of his client due to his past abuse (as a child). The outlet also reports that Mysliwiec said that his client was born "extremely premature" and addicted to crack and as such, he has a lower IQ than the average person.

5. He faces up to 20 years in prison for his role in the racketeering conspiracy. 

"Aaron "Bat" Young was also diagnosed with "Mild Mental Retardation of Intellectual Functioning," and his lawyer says the gang took advantage of his cognitive disabilities for their own benefit," reported All Hip Hop, who said that under the sentencing guidelines, Young faces up to 20 years in prison.

6. We will know his fate soon. 

Celebrity Insider reports that Aaron Bat Young is set to be sentenced on November 18, 2019. We will find out then if, in fact, he will be sentenced harshly.
