John Larroquette and his wife Elizabeth have been happily married for more than 30 years, despite staying away from the media spotlight. 

The couple first met in 1974 when John was working in the play called “Enter Laughing” and soon began their romantic relationship. On the only day with no rehearsals, July 4th, 1975, they decided to commit to each other by tying the knot.  

Recently, John took a leap of faith in an attempt to revive his most famous character from the 1984–1992 courtroom comedy. 

At the Television Critics Association winter press tour he admitted that he was a little hesitant about trying to recreate something from 35 years ago but that it seemed like a great opportunity.

According to Parade, John Larroquette disclosed on Thursday that he and the director of the 1974 slasher movie Texas Chainsaw Massacre agreed that Larroquette would narrate the prologue in exchange for marijuana.

The Tony Award-winning actor, 75, claimed director Tobe Hooper made the unusual offer to him after meeting in 1969 while he was working as a bartender. 

The Tony Award-winning actor made his film debut when he provided the opening narration for the gory movie. 

Over ten years of John Larroquette’s acting career were spent as the profane and womanizing lawyer Dan Fielding in Night Court. 

Most of his free time was spent leering at women or making advances toward Christine Sullivan, portrayed by Markie Post. 

Larroquette won four Emmys between 1985 and 1988 for his portrayal of Fielding because he was so believable in part.

The actor professed his love for his children in the same interview. ‘I took fatherhood seriously; I adore my children for all eternity, do everything in my power to help them, and yet let them be themselves. He wished to be as present for children as possible, having grown up without a father.’ 

The children of Larroquette and his wife are Lisa Katherina Larroquette, Jonathan Larroquette, and Benjamin Larroquette. 

These are not all of his biological offspring, though. Only his boys are his biological children; his daughter is a result of his wife’s previous marriage.
